There are three main toolbars within the Venngage Editor:

The top toolbar, page manager and left hand toolbar labeled with arrows indicating their location in the Venngage editor.

From these, you can edit and customize a design's elements (objects, colors, etc.) and canvas (page size, orientation, order, duplication, etc.), and access sharing, downloading and publishing options for your final design.

Here's a quick overview of the top toolbar:

Top toolbar functionality and features

In a nutshell, the top toolbar lets you customize your design and canvas with the following tools:

Alignment

Open the alignment menu to access tools that help you with positioning text, object and other elements on your canvas in a professional, visually pleasing way.

Align items with built-in Smart Guides, using the auto-align and distribution features, or by displaying and following the Grid.

These rounded back and forward arrows in the toolbar allow you to perform and cancel actions on your design canvas. Click the Back arrow to undo; click the Forward arrow to redo.

A user pulls an image of a monkey into the Venngage editor, onto their design canvas. They place the image, then use the 'Undo' button in the top toolbar to remove the image.

You can use the keyboard shortcuts in the table below to the same effect:

Group and ungroup objects

This tool is ideal for working on designs that layer or align multiple elements–objects, icons, text, etc.

Use it to "stick" multiple elements together so that they can be moved around the design canvas while staying in the same position relative to each other.

A user selects multiple objects on the design canvas: a dark green question mark superimposed on the white silhouette of a human head, in front of a dark green circle. With the three elements selected, the user clicks the Group icon in the top toolbar. The user then clicks and holds the grouped elements, moving them around the canvas to show that they move all together and retain their placement.

Delete

Click the trashcan icon on the top toolbar to delete items from the page. You can also use the "Delete" key on your keyboard to delete an element you selected.

Lock an element in place

Lock images, text, objects or any other element to fix them in place to that area of the design canvas.

A user selects an image of two conversation bubbles on the design canvas, then clicks the Lock icon in the top toolbar. The lock icon turns red. The user selects the image on the canvas and tries to move it, but it stays anchored to its position on the design canvas. With the image selected, the user clicks the lock icon in the top toolbar again. The lock icon turns grey, and the user selects the image on the canvas, moving it out of position.

Layer elements by moving them backward or forward

A user moves their cursor over the layering buttons in the top toolbar, as depicted in the image above.

These arrow shaped button let you layer elements by moving them forward or backward, to create visual interest in your designs.

A user selects an object on a design canvas: a light green square, partly visible behind a purple oval and a red circle. The user clicks the double-arrows point up 'Move to Front' in the top toolbar, and the green square moves to the front of the design, in front of the red circle and purple oval.

Modify the design file title

Type a new title for your design into the text field in the top toolbar.

A user clicks the editing icon for the file 'Title', next to the title text box that says 'Facebook Funny Birthday'. The user enters the title 'Joey Birthday Card'. When the user clicks out of the box, the name autosaves. They then click the 'Home' tab above the top toolbar. The preview tile for the same design has been updated with the title 'Joey Birthday Card'.

Autosave (Last saved timestamp)

All designs are automatically saved in the Venngage Editor as you work on them:

The Last Saved notification on the top toolbar is outlined with a bright red box, with a time stamp of 11:21a.m.

Find options to Present, Share, Download and manage design canvas Settings to the direct right of the top toolbar:
