Locking an element to the design canvas fixes it in place so that it stays right where you want it while you continue to tweak your design. When an element is locked to the canvas, it will appear with a thin red border and a lock icon in the top right when you mouse over it or select it in the Editor.

Click or use keyboard commands to select an element on the canvas of your accessible design in the upgraded Editor

Select the Lock icon in right corner of the top toolbar.

A grey and white design canvas with colorful accents is open in the upgraded Editor. A user clicks on the company name 'Hudson Marketing' , which appears in pink with a logo of a paper plane at the top of the canvas. Tools in the top toolbar become accessible when the logo is selected, including an icon of a Lock at the far right end of the top toolbar. The user clicks the Lock icon and the company logo appears on the canvas with a thin red border and a small lock icon outlined in red, indicating that it is fixed to the canvas.

Or, right-click the element to bring up the context menu and select "Lock" from there.

A partial view of a peach-colored design canvas open in the upgraded Editor, with black accents and icons. A user clicks on the table and tools appear in the top toolbar. The user clicks on the Lock icon in the right hand side of the top toolbar; on the canvas, the table now appears with a thin red border and a small white circle in the top right corner of the table shows a lock icon outlined in red.

Unlock an element the same way you locked it: click Unlock (the same Lock function) in the top toolbar or select unlock from the context menu when you right-click on an element.
