Designing with precision is easier than ever in the updated Venngage Editor. With Smart Guides, the Alignment Grid, and Margins, you can keep your layouts clean, balanced, and professional-looking.
Smart Guide Alignment
Smart Guides appear automatically as you move elements around the canvas. They help you line up text boxes, shapes, icons, and images with pixel-perfect accuracy.
Bright green lines: Show alignment relative to the horizontal or vertical center of the canvas.
Bright pink lines: Show alignment relative to other elements on the canvas, making spacing and layouts more consistent.
This feature ensures your designs stay neat without needing manual adjustments.
Toggle the Grid On or Off
The Grid overlays your canvas with evenly spaced lines, giving you an easy way to align multiple elements precisely. By default, the Grid is off, but you can toggle it at any time.
To turn the Grid on or off:
Go to the File menu.
Click Page Settings.
Select Show Grid (or press Tab + Spacebar as a shortcut).

A ✔ checkmark next to Show Grid means the Grid is enabled.

To hide the Grid, click Show Grid again to remove the checkmark.
⚠️ Note: The Grid only appears in the Editor. It won’t show when you share or export your design.
Use Margins for Safe Design Space
Margins display a 1-inch border around the canvas. They help ensure that no important text or images are too close to the edges of your design.
Margins are off by default.

To turn them on:
Go to the File menu.
Click Page Settings.

Select Show Margins.
A ✔ checkmark next to Show Margins means they are enabled.
Auto Distribution and Alignment
The upgraded Editor also includes auto-distribution tools that evenly space out multiple elements across your canvas. Combined with Smart Guides, this feature ensures consistency and saves you time when working with complex layouts.
FAQs
Q: Will the Grid or Margins appear when I export or share my design?
A: No. The Grid and Margins are only visible inside the Editor. They won’t show in shared links, previews, or exported files.
Q: Can I change the spacing of the Grid lines?
A: Not at this time. The Grid is fixed, but you can toggle it on or off as needed.
Q: Are Smart Guides always enabled?
A: Yes, Smart Guides automatically appear as you move elements. You can’t turn them off, but they only display when an element is in motion.
Q: Can I adjust the margin size?
A: Currently, margins are fixed at 1 inch and can only be toggled on or off.
