You can edit photographic images you add to your design canvas using tools like crop, resize, shape crop, rotate, opacity, and flip.

Selecting and Moving an Image

  1. Select the image you want to edit.

  2. Move the image by clicking and dragging it on the canvas.

    • For precise placement, use the arrow keys to nudge the image.

3. When selected, a bounding box appears around the image with three main tools: resize, rotate, and crop.

Resize an Image

1. Using the Bounding Box (see image above for reference)

  • Corner handles: Drag to resize proportionally.

  • Side handles: Drag to stretch or compress the width or height.

2. Using the Resize Tool (Top Toolbar)

  • Enter exact pixel dimensions for width and height.

  • Lock the aspect ratio to maintain proportional scaling.

Rotate an Image

1. Using the Circular Arrow Handle

  • Appears at the bottom of the bounding box.

  • Click and drag to rotate manually.

2. Using the Resize Tool

  • Enter a specific degree value for precise rotation.

Crop an Image

  1. Drag the side handles inward to create a visible area.

  2. Reposition the visible area by clicking Crop in the top toolbar.

    • The entire image will appear, with the visible portion highlighted.

    • Click and drag the image inside the frame to adjust positioning.

Crop an Image to a Shape

  1. Select the image.

  2. In the Crop Shape dropdown (top toolbar), choose a shape to apply.

  3. Adjust the image within the shape:

    • Click Crop in the toolbar.

    • Drag the image to position it properly inside the shape frame.

Adjust Image Opacity

  • Select the image, then click Opacity in the top toolbar.

  • Use the slider or manually input a value to adjust opacity.

    • Lower numbers: more transparent.

    • Higher numbers: more opaque.

  • Click outside the menu to confirm.

Tip: Placing a colored shape or semi-transparent photo behind the image can create interesting visual effects or be used as a gradient background.

Flip an Image

  • Select the image, then use the “Flip” options in the Resize Object tool on the top toolbar:

    • Horizontal flip – flips the image left-to-right.

    • Vertical flip – flips the image top-to-bottom.

✨ With these tools, you can fully customize your images in the Venngage Editor to fit your design vision, whether you’re resizing, cropping, rotating, adjusting opacity, or adding creative shapes and effects.
