We begin collecting data the moment you interact with Venngage — through our website or emails.

We collect information in two ways:

  • Data collected automatically, like your device type or browsing behavior.

Why We Collect Your Data

We use the personal information we collect to operate, maintain, and provide to you the features and functionality of Venngage. We use your data for certain reasons where we have a legal basis to do so. Here are the reasons for which we process your data:

  • Delivery of our service

We collect your data to deliver our service to you - accessing your account (login and authentication), storing and accessing your designs, remembering your settings, and processing payment.

  • Personalization of user experience

We also use your data to personalize content on our website and application for you, such as displaying content in your preferred language. We use information of your role, type of organization, and your preferences to recommend templates and designs that are relevant to your work and style. We also recommend templates based on the types of designs you have created on the application.

  • Improving Venngage

We constantly measure and improve the user experience in Venngage. We use data on how users use Venngage to inform decisions such as new features, updating existing features, identifying and fixing bugs, managing the availability of our service and backend infrastructure, and optimizing the response times of page loads.

  • Customer support

We use your information to respond to your customer support requests via chat, email or phone. We send you notifications to inform you of updates on your requests and/or other relevant information related to the requests.

  • Communicating with you

We send you emails to communicate important updates, new features, products and services, updated pricing, promotions and relevant content such as help articles, educational videos and webinars based on your role and the types of designs you have created.

 

Google API Services User Data Disclosure

When you choose to sign up for, log in to, or connect your Venngage account using Google OAuth, Venngage accesses only the Google user data necessary to provide the functionality you have requested.

  • Data We Access and Collect via Google OAuth

When you connect your Google Account to Venngage, we may receive basic account and profile information made available by Google, which may include:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your Google account identifier
  • Your language or locale preference, if provided by Google

The specific information we receive depends on the Google permissions you authorize. We request only the minimum Google OAuth scopes necessary for the functionality we provide.

  • How We Use Google User Data

We use Google user data to:

  • Create, authenticate, and maintain your Venngage account
  • Associate your Google Account with your Venngage account
  • Maintain your login session and account security
  • Provide features and functionality that you request
  • Provide customer support related to your Venngage account or Google-connected functionality
  • Maintain, secure, and improve the user-facing functionality of Venngage

We do not use Google user data for targeted advertising, personalized advertising, retargeting, or advertising profiling.

We do not sell Google user data.

We do not use Google user data for purposes unrelated to the functionality for which you provided access.

  • How We Store and Protect Google User Data

Google user data is transmitted to Venngage using secure, encrypted connections and is protected using appropriate technical and organizational security measures.

Google user data may be stored on Venngage's systems and infrastructure and may be processed by service providers that support Venngage's operation, such as cloud hosting and infrastructure providers. These providers may access or process Google user data only as necessary to provide services to Venngage and are subject to appropriate contractual and confidentiality obligations.

  • How We Share Google User Data

We do not sell Google user data or share it with advertising networks, data brokers, or other third parties for advertising purposes.

We may disclose or transfer Google user data in the following limited circumstances:

  1. Service Providers and Subprocessors: We may provide Google user data to service providers that process data on our behalf when necessary to operate, secure, maintain, or provide the Venngage functionality for which the data was accessed.
  2. User-Requested Functionality: Where you explicitly request a Venngage feature that requires transferring or using Google user data with another service, we may do so as necessary to provide that feature, subject to your authorization and applicable Google requirements.
  3. Legal Requirements: We may disclose Google user data when required by applicable law, legal process, or a valid governmental request, or when necessary to protect the security, rights, or property of Venngage, our users, or others.

We do not transfer Google user data to third parties for their own advertising, marketing, or data-broker purposes.

  • Retention and Deletion of Google User Data

We retain Google user data only for as long as necessary to provide the functionality for which it was accessed, maintain your Venngage account, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

When Google user data is no longer necessary for these purposes, we delete or anonymize it in accordance with our data retention and deletion practices.

You may request deletion of your Venngage account and associated Google user data by contacting us at support@venngage.com. Where applicable, you may also disconnect Venngage from your Google Account through your Google Account settings. Disconnecting Google access does not necessarily delete Google data previously received and stored by Venngage; to request deletion of that data, please contact us using the method above.

  • Google API Limited Use Compliance

Venngage's access to and use of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Our use and transfer of Google user data is limited to the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and the functionality presented to users.

Note: Google user data obtained through Google APIs is not used for targeted advertising, personalized advertising, retargeting, advertising profiling, or other advertising purposes. General Venngage marketing activities described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy are based on information collected through Venngage's own services and other permitted sources and do not change the restrictions applicable to Google user data.

When you log on to the Venngage website, sign up for our Services or log in to use our application, we give you the option to choose your privacy settings, and show you the names of the applications providing cookies. You have the right to opt in or out of letting us collect and store data related to functionality, performance, activity, and essential services.

Right of access

You have the right to access information we hold about you, including:

Right to update your personal data

If you no longer want to use Venngage, you have the right to ask us to erase all personal and user data we hold about you. This includes all data in your account, including your designs.


Right to object to data processing

You have the right to request that we stop processing your personal data for marketing purposes, communication purposes or on other compelling legal ground. 


Right to data portability

You have the right to request that your data be exported. If you are part of a Business or Education account with other users, we will not do so to the extent that this involves disclosing data about any other user. We will provide a copy of your data in JSON or CSV format.

You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.

You can exercise your rights by sending us an email at support@venngage.com. We will comply with your request as soon as we can, no more than one month of your request.

Privacy of Children

Protecting the privacy of young children is important to us. Venngage services are intended for general audiences and are not directed towards young children. Children under 13 are not allowed to register with our website. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without the consent of their parents or guardians. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.

 

How Long do We Store Your Data

We will routinely archive and delete your data when you no longer use our services or interact with our communications.

We will stop actively using any personal identifiable information about you within 26 months from the last time you used Venngage or interacted with our communications.

We will delete your personal data from our archives no later than 8 years from the last time you used Venngage, interacted with our communications, or as agreed with you in a separate contract.

  • You provide personal data at your own risk. Unfortunately, there is some risk that an unauthorized third party may find a way to circumvent our security systems or that transmission of your information over the Internet will be intercepted.

Each provider only processes data necessary for their function and in accordance with strict privacy standards.
