Add a colour, pattern or gradient

Click Background on the left toolbar.

A close-up of the left sidebar in the Venngage Editor, with the Background heading highlighted in a dark red box.

There are four headings under Background:

  • Brand Colors: (available on Premium, Business and Enterprise subscriptions) The custom brand colors you add will appear here, making it easy to match your design colors to your brand.
  • Swatch Colors: Colors you've swatched from the rest of your design appear here.
  • Gradients: Choose from pre-generated gradients provided by Venngage.
  • Patterns: Select patterns, visible through the color or gradient you apply to your background, from this list.

Add a Brand Color or Swatch Color

Add your brand colors to My Brand Kit. Click Background in the left sidebar and select one of your brand colors from under Brand Colors.

Use the My Brand Kit shuffle feature to apply brand colors to the entire template. Select My Brand Kit from the left toolbar and click the Shuffle button.

Use a Swatch Color as the background

Under Swatch Colors, click the + sign to add a new color, using the Color Tool widget. Check under Gradients to select a gradient color option.

In the Venngage Editor, a design canvas with the heading 'Annual Marketing Report' appears. A user clicks on Background in the left sidebar and changes the background, from solid black, to a bright purple and orange, which the user selects from under the Swatch Colors. The user then clicks on gradients to change the color, from a white to light blue gradient, or light green to light yellow gradient.

Add a gradient

Under the Gradients heading, click on a tile to apply it to the background of the design canvas.

A design canvas in the Venngage Editor entitled 'Most Popular Social Media Platforms for Marketing' appears with social media logos and text. A user clicks on Background in the left toolbar to expand the widget. Under the heading Gradients, tiles with different colored gradients appear. The user clicks on the tiles, changing the background on the design canvas to different gradients, such as light purple to blue to green, magenta to orange, etc.

Add a Pattern

Patterns can be used on their own or in combination with another color or gradient. They can also be used with low-opacity photos set as the background layer of your design.

A design canvas in the Venngage Editor entitled 'Most Popular Social Media Platforms for Marketing' appears with social media logos and text. The background is a dark to light green gradient. A user clicks on Background in the left toolbar to expand the widget. Under the heading Patterns, tiles with different geometric patterns appear. The user clicks on patterns and applies them to the background.
