If you’ve created designs in Venngage’s classic editor, you now have the option to transfer them into the new editor and take advantage of all our latest features like AI tools, accessibility options, and improved usability.

New users will automatically start in the new editor. If you’ve been with us for a while and have older designs, here’s how to bring them forward.

How to Tell Which Editor You’re Using

Aside from the editor interface (Black for classic and White for New Editor) you can quickly identify whether your design is in the classic editor or the new editor by checking the URL:

• Classic Editor: URL contains /edit/(https://infograph.venngage.com/edit/)

• New Editor: URL contains /design/(https://infograph.venngage.com/design/)

  

👉 If you see /edit/ in your link, your design was created in the classic editor and can be transferred.

How to Transfer a Design

You can now transfer your own designs directly to the editor.

1. Open your design in the classic editor.

2. Click Settings in the top toolbar.

3. Select Copy to New Editor.

    When you click the button, a prompt may appear:

         

    ⚠️ This is a reminder to carefully check your design once it's in the new editor. ⚠️

4. The design will open in the new editor as a new copy.

⚡ Important: Your original design in the classic editor will not be deleted or overwritten. You’ll have both versions (classic and new).

Why Transfer to the New Editor?

The new Venngage editor includes:

• AI-powered features (AI Image Generator, AI Icons, Improve Text, AI Translate, Replace with AI).

• Accessibility tools like alt text, contrast checker, and screen reader support.

• Improved editing, usability, and template management.

If you’re still working from old designs you duplicate each month (like newsletters or reports), moving them to the new editor ensures you can take advantage of all updates moving forward.

Known Issues When Transferring Designs

Some features from the classic editor don’t fully carry over into the new editor. After transferring, check your design carefully before sharing or downloading.

Not supported in the new editor:

• Interactive widgets (Forms, HTML embeds, YouTube, Survey, Poll).

• Text links.

• Certain charts (Funnel, Pyramid, Bubble, Word Cloud, and potentially others).

What this means for you:

• These elements may not appear or function correctly after transfer.

• You may need to re-add or replace them with alternatives available in the new editor.

Best Practices After Transferring

1. Review your design carefully
   Check every page, chart, and text link to make sure your design looks and works as expected.

2. Make manual updates if needed
   Small fixes (like swapping out a chart type or re-adding an image) usually take just a couple of minutes.

3. Contact Support if you need help
   If something doesn’t look right or you’d like us to transfer a design for you, reach out to our Support team and we’ll help get it fixed.

FAQs

Will my design look the same after transferring?
Most designs transfer without issues, but some features (like certain charts, links, or interactive elements) may not work the same. Always review your design before publishing.

What happens to charts that don’t transfer?
Unsupported chart types (like funnel or bubble charts) won’t work in the new editor. You can replace them with alternative chart types supported in the new editor.

Do links still work in transferred designs?
Text links are not currently supported. You’ll need to re-add or adjust linked content manually.

Can Support transfer designs for me?
Yes! If you’d like us to handle the transfer for you or if your design isn’t matching properly, contact Support and we’ll help get it fixed.

Do I have to transfer all my old designs?
No. You can still access them in the classic editor. But we recommend transferring important or frequently updated projects to the new editor so you can use all the latest features.

Will transferring overwrite my old design?
No. Your original design remains in the classic editor. You’ll just get a new copy in the new editor.
