You can now generate and customize interactive QR codes in the Venngage Editor. A QR code lets viewers scan it with their device and instantly access the link you’ve provided.

Add a QR Code to Your Design

1. Open your design in the Editor.

2. Go to the Elements section in the left sidebar.

   

3. Click QR Code to insert it onto your canvas.

   

4. In the URL text field, type or paste the web address (URL) you want to link to.

   

5. Click Generate QR Code.

   

   • The Preview will display the QR code based on the entered web address.

Customize the QR Code

Resize or Reposition

• Drag the corners to resize.

• Click and drag to move it anywhere on the canvas.

Change the QR Code Color

1. Select the QR code.

2. In the top toolbar, click the Color Tool.

   

3. Choose from:

   • Project Colors (colors already used in your design)

   • Brand Kit colors (available for paid plans)

   • Custom colors (via the color picker or HEX codes)

This allows you to match the QR code with your overall design theme.

Edit the QR Code Link

Need to update the link after generating the QR code?

1. Select the QR code on the canvas.

2. Click the URL Tool in the top toolbar, or click Edit QR Code button at the top of the element.

3. A modal will appear showing the current link.

4. Replace it with your new URL, then click OK.

Your QR code will automatically update to reflect the new link.

Add Alt Text (Accessibility)

To make your design more accessible, add Alt Text that describes the QR code’s purpose. Screen readers use this to communicate its function to users with visual impairments.

1. Select the QR code.

2. In the top toolbar, click Alt Text.

3. Enter a short, clear description. For example:

   “A QR code that links to venngage.com.”

This ensures all viewers understand the QR code’s intent, even if they can’t see it.

• Can I track how many times my QR code is scanned?
  Not directly within Venngage. However, you can use a tracking URL (like a Bitly link) before generating your QR code.

• Can I link a QR code to something other than a website?
  Yes. You can use links like:

  • mailto:email@example.com to open an email draft

  • tel:+123456789 to initiate a phone call

• Will the QR code print clearly?
  Yes, as long as the code is large enough and has good contrast with the background. Avoid colors that reduce readability.
