Something on the canvas just not clicking? Get rid of it with just one...well, click!
To delete a text:
Click the text box and look for More actions on the top tool bar. Then click the trash icon.
To delete an object:
Click on the object you want to delete and then hit the delete key on your keyboard or click the trash icon in the right side of the top toolbar (pictured below).
NOTE: If you deleted something by accident, bring it back with the Undo button (on the keyboard, CMD+Z for Mac or CTRL + Z for Windows).

Need to delete more than one object?
Hold down the SHIFT key on your keyboard
and click on each object you want to delete
to select it, then hit the DELETE key or
use the Delete tool in the top toolbar.
For design elements like text boxes, clicking into the box will let you delete words within the text box without deleting the text box itself.
Delete the text box by clicking on the border of the bounding (selection) box and click Delete in the top toolbar or on your keyboard.
