Select an Element

Click the visual element or text box you want to layer. A blue bounding box will appear around the selected item.

The Layer menu will appear in the top toolbar. You can use your mouse or keyboard shortcuts to move the element forward or backward in the design.
Layer Controls and Shortcuts

Move to Front:
Ctrl (or Cmd) + Shift + >Brings the element in front of all other items.

Move Forward:
Ctrl (or Cmd) + >Moves the element up one layer at a time.

Move Backward:
Ctrl (or Cmd) + <Moves the element down one layer at a time.

Move to Back:
Ctrl (or Cmd) + Shift + <Sends the element behind all other items.
Example Actions
Move an element to the front
Brings an element from the bottom to the very top layer so it appears above everything else.
Move an element forward
Moves the element one layer up so it appears between other elements, or use the shortcut to bring it to the top layer.
Move an element backward
Moves the element one layer down so it appears behind another item, or continue moving it to send it to the back.
Move an element to the back
Sends the selected element behind all other elements in your design.
