Customizing your background color helps set the tone and enhance the overall look of your accessible design. You can easily adjust the background color, add new project colors, or remove the background entirely using the Edit Background tool.
Open the Edit Background Tool
In the accessible Editor, click anywhere on the background or editor space (outside the design canvas page).
The Background Color option will appear in the top toolbar — click it to open the Edit Background panel.
Change or Add Project Colors
-
Under Project Colors, click on any color circle to apply it as your background color. These are colors already used in your design.
-
If you’ve added brand colors to your Brand Kit, they’ll also appear here. Select one to ensure your design stays consistent with your brand identity.
-
To add a new color, open the color picker:
-
Adjust using the Hue slider.
-
Use the eyedropper tool to select a color from anywhere on your screen.
-
Or, enter a HEX code manually.
-
Remove the Background Color
Select No Color (the first circle under Project Colors with a slash through it) to remove your design’s background color.
Use the Eyedropper Tool
Click Pick a Color (eyedropper icon) to activate the color picker. Hover over any color on your device’s screen and select it to apply that color as your background.
Adjust Color Opacity
Use the Opacity slider or manually input a value in the opacity field to control how strong or transparent the background color appears. This helps tone down bold colors or add subtle effects.
Select a Color Using HEX Code
If you already know the 6-digit HEX code of your desired color, type it in the Hex field.
When using the color picker or eyedropper, the HEX code will automatically display in this box.
✨ Tip: Setting consistent background colors across your designs helps maintain visual harmony and brand consistency.
