Creating beautiful, accessible color combinations is simple with Venngage’s Color Palette Generator. Use it to explore random palettes or create one from your custom color.

Generate a Random Palette

  1. Go to the Color Palette Generator on the Venngage Tools page.

  2. Click Random Palette at the top of the color tiles.

  3. Scroll down and click Load more palettes to explore the full range.

A user clicks 'Random palette' under the Accessible Color Palette Generator heading. Three color palettes - sets of five color tiles - change to generate individual palettes. The user scrolls down the page and clicks 'Load more palettes' to see an additional four sets of palettes, bringing the total number of palettes displayed to 10.

✨Each row represents a distinct color theme — for example, Vibrant, Light to Dark, or Pastel.
Under each color tile, you’ll see a contrast score based on Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), helping you identify text color combinations that are easy to read.

Each color tile appears with a Contrast Ratio check at the bottom, giving its contrast score with either black or white text. At the top right of the palette is a 'Download' button.

Generate a Palette from a Custom Color

  1. In the text field beside Random Palette, enter your preferred HEX code (e.g., #0073E6).

The use clicks into the text field and types a new HEX code, '#E6308A', and the dot next to it turns magenta. The user clicks the 'Generate' button to the right of the text field.

  2. Click Generate to create palettes based on your chosen color.
On the Color Palette generate page, a user types the HEX code '#E6308A' into the text field that appears between the blue button to generate a 'Random palette' and a white button to generate a custom palette. A small dot in the text field previews the color as the user types; when the user is finished typing the HEX code, the dot appears magenta, which is the color of the HEX code. The user clicks the 'Generate' button to the right of the text field and generates palettes underneath the text field and buttons. The user scrolls through the palette, which have headings describing their themes like 'Vibrant palette', 'Contrasting palette', 'Pastel palette'. When the user reaches the end of the page, they click the 'Load more' button at the bottom, to reveal further palettes based on the HEX code they entered.

  3. Select Load more to reveal additional palettes inspired by your input.

✨ This feature helps you build cohesive color sets that match your brand or project theme.

Download Your Color Palette

When you find the palette you like:

  • Click Download to save the HEX codes, or

  • Take a screenshot to reference them later in your designs or My Brand Kit.

A user clicks the 'Download' button over a color palette entitled 'Vibrant Palette' created in Venngage's Accessible Color Palette Generator. A file named 'Vibrant Palette' is downloaded. The user opens the file from the download bar at the bottom of the browser window and a file opens with a list of HEX codes corresponding to the colors in the palette.

Tip: Use your saved color palettes in the Venngage Editor or My Brand Kit to keep your designs consistent and on-brand across all projects.
