The Universal Generator lets you instantly transform text prompts into beautiful, professional designs, visuals, and layouts. It’s perfect for brainstorming ideas, creating content from scratch, or exploring design directions without any prior design experience.

Access it easily from your dashboard by clicking DesignAI or Start with AI in the Create Design panel, and bring your ideas to life in just a few clicks!

 

How to Use the Universal Generator

  1. Open the Generator
    From your dashboard, click DesignAI or select Start with AI from the Create Design panel to launch the AI Design Generator.


    👉 You can also find it in the AI Tools Panel if you are in the Editor, along with the Icon Generator and other AI-powered features. 

  2. Enter Your Prompt
    Describe what you want the design to look like. Be specific about the subject, style, mood, or color palette.
    Example:
    “Create a colorful, modern infographic about healthy eating with a fresh, cheerful mood and a green, yellow, orange, and blue color palette.”

  3. Add Files (Optional)
    You can also add one file at a time or provide a link to help guide your design. Simply click Add File (paperclip icon), then select Upload files to add a file directly or Add link to provide a URL to a file or online resource.

    Supported file formats include PDF, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, CSV, PNG, and JPEG.

    You can also click Apply Brand Kit to Design to incorporate your brand kit. This will help keep your design consistent with your brand’s colors, fonts, and visual style.

  4. Generate Designs
    Click Generate Design. You’ll be redirected to the Editor while the AI generates your design.

  5. Review & Customize
    Review the generated result and customize it as needed in the Editor. You can edit the elements, text, images, and other design details to make it your own.

  6. Save or Share
    Once happy, download or share your design directly from the editor.

  • Brand Kit application: Applying a Brand Kit helps guide the design's colors, fonts, and visual style, but you may still need to make adjustments.

  • AI credit usage: Generating and refining designs uses AI credits, which are shared across Venngage's AI tools and subject to your plan's daily limits.

  • Can I generate a design without uploading a file? 
    Yes. You can create a design using just a text prompt. Adding a file or link is optional and can provide additional context for the AI.
  • What types of files can I upload?

  • What does "Add link" do?

    Yes. You can also customize your design in the Venngage Editor. Edit text and elements, replace or crop images, adjust layouts, change colors, and make other changes as needed.
  • Why doesn't my generated design look exactly like my prompt?
    AI-generated results can vary. Try making your prompt more specific by describing the design type, subject, layout, style, mood, colors, and other important details you want included.
  • Can I use the generated design right away?
    It's recommended that you review the design first. Check the text, data, images, formatting, and overall layout, then make any necessary adjustments before sharing or publishing.
