Venngage makes it easy for you to customize the size, orientation, and color of hundreds of icons available in our extensive catalog.

Reposition or resize

Reposition an icon on the design canvas by clicking on the icon and dragging it to the place you want.

A close-up of a section of a deigns canvas in the Venngage Editor shows an icon of a stack of pages with a red speech bubble over it being placed on the canvas. A user then clicks and drags the icon into a position in the lower left corner of the canvas. The user then clicks and drags on the bottom right corner handle of the icon's selection (bounding) box, reducing its size proportionally.

Use the handles on the bounding box (the selection box around the icon) to resize it.

Use the handles in the corners to resize the icon proportionally (maintaining its aspect ratio); use the center handles on the tops and sides to stretch the icon horizontally or vertically.

A partial view of a design canvas in the Venngage Editor shows a colorful design with the heading 'Sustainable Development Goals'. There are two rows of square tiles underneath the heading block, with four tiles across in each row. In the second tile of the top row, a user selects a simple heart icon. The user resizes the heart icon proportionally by clicking the handle on the top right corner of the selection (bounding) box, then resizes it horizonally by clicking the handle in the middle of the right side of the bounding box.

Mirror or rotate

Use the Mirror tool to flip the image along a vertical axis.

Select the icon, then click the Mirror tool icon in the top toolbar to flip it.

A partial view of a design canvas in the Venngage Editor shows a row of icons overlaying colorful tiles. A user selects an icon of a stack of papers oriented to the left side, and covered by a red speech bubble on the right side. The user then clicks the Mirror icon in the top toolbar. The icon is flipped on a vertical axis, so that the stack of paper is oriented to the right side and the speech bubble is now on the left side.

Rotate the icon to change its orientation.

Select the icon, then click and drag the circular arrow that appears at the bottom of the bounding (selection) box. When you're happy with the new orientation, let it go.

A partial view of a design canvas in the Venngage Editor shows a row of icons overlaying colorful tiles. A user selects an icon of a blue digital file with a magnifying glass on it, and the bounding (selection) box appears, indicating the icon is in a selected state. At the top of the icon bounding box, a small
circular icon appears with a circular arrow inside of it. The user moves their cursor over the circular arrow and the cursor takes on the same circular arrow shape. When the user clicks and holds, they are able to shift the icon, slowly rotating its orientation to the left or the right side.

Change the color

Click on the icon to select it.

Click on the Color Tool icon on the toolbar at the top.

The Color Tool icon appears as a square the color of the design element and a tear-drop or droplet shape in the middle:

Select a new color using the Color Picker, or by clicking a color tile under Brand or Swatch colors. Once you’ve selected a color, click the 'X' at the top of the Color Tool widget, or click anywhere outside the widget to close it and save the changes.

A partial view of the Venngage Editor shows a colorful design with text boxes, squares, and icons on the canvas. The user clicks an icon at the bottom of the canvas to select it: a single-color, light-blue clipboard with a cryptocurrency symbol on it. When the icon is selected, new tools for customizing the icon appear in the top toolbar, including the color droplet symbol that represents the Color Tool. The user clicks on the Color Tool to open the menu, and uses the various tools to change the icon color, including the color picker, the color tiles under the Brand Colors heading, and the opacity slider, which affects the transparency of the icon.

The Color Tool widget also allows you to access Brand Kit Colors or Swatch Colors and apply them to elements on your design canvas. Use the Color Tool to customize the light/dark value of a color, as well as to adjust the opacity/transparency of icon color.

Select the icon you want to link. With the icon selected, a link icon will appear in the top toolbar.

Click the link icon in the top toolbar to expand the URL text field. Type or paste the URL address you want to use into the text field, or select a page from your design to link to.

Click out of the text field or select another element on the canvas to confirm.

In a partial view of a design canvas open in the Venngage Editor, a user selects an icon of a multi-colored pie chart. When the icon is selected, a link symbol appears in the top toolbar. The user clicks on the link symbol to expand it, then enters a website URL in to the text field that appears. The user clicks on a different icon on the design canvas to save the link to the icon.

Change or remove a hyperlink

Click on the icon again to select it. The link text field will appear, containing the link address, in the top toolbar.
Change the hyperlink the same way you added it: type the new URL into the text field and then click anywhere on the canvas to deselect the icon and save your changes.
Remove the link by selecting the icon, then click the 'x' that appears at the end of the text field where the URL address is entered to delete the link URL.

In a partial view of a design canvas open in the Venngage Editor, a user selects an icon of a multi-colored pie chart. When the icon is selected, a link symbol appears in the top toolbar with a text field next to it that contains a website URL. In the far right corner of the text field is a small symbol of an 'x'. The user hovers their cursor over the 'x' and it becomes highlighted; the user then clicks the 'x' and the URL is deleted from the text field.

Use fill percentage to add two colors to a mono icon

Easily represent a percentage datum point by adding a second color to a mono-color icon.

Open the Icons gallery and add any "mono" icon to the canvas, or click on any mono icon on the canvas to select it.

Click the Fill % drop-down on the top toolbar.

Choose any percentage other than 100% to give the icon two different colors. A second Color Tool icon will appear in the top toolbar, set to a default color.

A close-up view of a design canvas in the Venngage Editor. A user selects a mono-color icon of a syrup bottle with a maple leaf on it. The icon is a light brown color, and the Color Tool icon in the top toolbar reflects the same light brown color. Tools appear in the top toolbar when the icon is selected. The user clicks the Fill % tool, which appears as a drop-down menu with a symbol of a circle that is half light, half dark, on it. When the drop-down menu opens, the fill is set to 100. The user scrolls up the menu and selects 70% fill. The icon of the syrup bottle now appears in two colors: the light brown color is the majority fill, and a bright red fills the top 30% of the icon. The top toolbar now displays two Color Tool icons: one for the light brown color fill, and one for the bright red color fill.

Customize the colors of each portion of the icon using the Color Tool in the top toolbar.
