🦾 Improving accessible designs in the upgraded Editor (Beta)

💡 New Features

📔 Create widgets with responsive text and shapes

Create a responsive text and shape widget using the "Elements" menu in the left sidebar.

A design in the upgraded Venngage Editor shows a white design canvas, with the heading 'Contributors to Success' above a paragraph of text. The user clicks on 'Elements' in the left sidebar of the Editor, and the user clicks on several text widgets, text boxes with background colors, colored borders, headings and styled body text. The user uses the tools in the top toolbar, as well as the selection boxes on the widgets, to adjust their size, color and font to fit with the style of the rest of the text on the design canvas.

These widgets are styled in different text boxes and formats: resize them, or apply custom colors and fonts to make them your own!

🌐 Auto-detect document language

Run the Accessibility Checker or download your design, and our upgraded Editor will automatically detect and tag the document language, based on the first page of the design, in the document metadata.

 

🖨️ Define a custom page range for export

Choose a page range for your download: enter page numbers for the pages you'd like to download. Define ranges by typing '#-#' or use commas between page numbers to download individual pages out of sequence.

♟️ Replace icon with double-click

Double-click an icon in your accessible design to replace it, or click the "Replace"button in the top toolbar.

🔧 Improvements to Accessible Tables & Charts

↕️ Align cell text vertically

Change the vertical alignment of text in a table to top, middle or bottom.

With the number selected, the user opens the drop-down menu to change the alignment of the text in the cell, changing it from top, to middle, to bottom, and back to top. 📋 Numbered and unnumbered lists in cells

Start an unnumbered list in a table cell by typing "-" or select the text and click the "Bullet List" icon in the top toolbar.

The dash automatically formats into a bull and begins a bulleted list. The user types words and each time they hit Return (the enter key), a new line starts underneath the last, all in the same cell. Start a numbered list in a table cell by typing "1." in front of the text, or select the text in a cell and click the "Numbered list" icon in the top toolbar.

🔲 Cell padding to offset text

We added minimal padding to tables to offset the text and numbers in the table cells, making it easier for viewers to read the content.

📊 Customize and swap new stat charts (icon, donut and half-donut)

Represent statistics with engaging visuals using icon charts:

or donut and half-donut charts:

Under the heading 'Stat', the user selects a half-donut statistics chart, which appears on the canvas as a two-tone arc and a percentage number underneath that is reflected by the color of the chart. The user resizes the chart and changes the percentage from 67% to 88% in the top toolbar. This change is reflected in the chart on the design canvas.

 

Resize progress bar charts with a horizontal slider, and edit the colors, fonts and size of your stat charts from the top toolbar.

Swap chart types easily between bar, icon, donut and half-donut from the top toolbar.

Under axes settings, users can:

  • Add x and y-axis titles

  • Edit font family, text style, size and color

  • Set min and max value

  • Adjust the width of the axis
