🦾 Improving accessible designs in the upgraded Editor (Beta)

💡 New Features

📔 Create widgets with responsive text and shapes

Create a responsive text and shape widget using the "Elements" menu in the left sidebar.

A design in the upgraded Venngage Editor shows a white design canvas, with the heading 'Contributors to Success' above a paragraph of text. The user clicks on 'Elements' in the left sidebar of the Editor, and the user clicks on several text widgets, text boxes with background colors, colored borders, headings and styled body text. The user uses the tools in the top toolbar, as well as the selection boxes on the widgets, to adjust their size, color and font to fit with the style of the rest of the text on the design canvas.

These widgets are styled in different text boxes and formats: resize them, or apply custom colors and fonts to make them your own!

🌐 Auto-detect document language

Run the Accessibility Checker or download your design, and our upgraded Editor will automatically detect and tag the document language, based on the first page of the design, in the document metadata.

🖨️ Define a custom page range for export

Choose a page range for your download: enter page numbers for the pages you'd like to download. Define ranges by typing '#-#' or use commas between page numbers to download individual pages out of sequence.

Under two headings, 'Select Pages' and 'Choose a Format', radio buttons allow the user to select the pages and format style of their design export. In this case, the 'Custom' option under 'Select Pages' is selected, with the page range defined as '1–3, 4', and the format is 'PDF'.

♟️ Replace icon with double-click

Double-click an icon in your accessible design to replace it, or click the "Replace"button in the top toolbar.

A design in the upgraded Venngage Editor shows a grey design canvas, with the heading 'A Healthy Diet' above a paragraph of text. A colorful donut pie chart appears next to the text, with the segments representing different food categories. In the center of the chart is a black circle icon behind a simple white outline icon of a taco. The user double-clicks on the taco icon, and the 'Replace Menu' opens automatically from the left sidebar. The user types 'fork' in the search bar under the Icons tab, and the search returns results for different mono-colored and colorful icons of forks and other utensils. The user clicks on a simple while outline icon of a fork and a knife and it appears on the canvas over the black circle, replacing the taco icon.

From the Replace panel, select a new icon from Venngage's icon library to take the place of the icon you double-clicked, in the same dimensions and the same position.

🔧 Improvements to Accessible Tables & Charts

↕️ Align cell text vertically

Change the vertical alignment of text in a table to top, middle or bottom.

In a close-up of a table that appears on the design canvas of a design in the upgraded Venngage Editor, a user selects a number in a cell. With the number selected, the user opens the drop-down menu to change the alignment of the text in the cell, changing it from top, to middle, to bottom, and back to top. The position of the number changes in the cell to match the user's selection.

📋 Numbered and unnumbered lists in cells

Start an unnumbered list in a table cell by typing "-" or select the text and click the "Bullet List" icon in the top toolbar.

In a close-up of a table that appears on the design canvas of a design in the upgraded Venngage Editor, a user types a dash '-' into a table cell. The dash automatically formats into a bull and begins a bulleted list. The user types words and each time they hit Return (the enter key), a new line starts underneath the last, all in the same cell. The user makes a three bullet point list.

Start a numbered list in a table cell by typing "1." in front of the text, or select the text in a cell and click the "Numbered list" icon in the top toolbar.

In a close-up of a table that appears on the design canvas of a design in the upgraded Venngage Editor, a three-point bulleted list appears in a cell. The user selects the three points and clicks the 'Numbered list' tool in the top toolbar. The list appears numbered from 1 to 3. The user clicks on the last number, 3, and hits the return key, starting a new line in the list which automatically begins with the number 4.

🔲 Cell padding to offset text

We added minimal padding to tables to offset the text and numbers in the table cells, making it easier for viewers to read the content.

📊 Customize and swap new stat charts (icon, donut and half-donut)

Represent statistics with engaging visuals using icon charts:

An icon statistics chart with the figure '22%' that appears next to two horizontal rows of simple human icons (head and shoulders) in silhouette. In each row, 10 icons appear; of those, 5 and 1/3 starting from the left of the top row appear in a darker color, representing the 22%.

or donut and half-donut charts:

A design in the upgraded Venngage Editor shows a white design slide, with a stylized icon of a person sitting at their desk in front of a computer to the left and a heading with the text 'Example 4: Learners passing or failing' over a paragraph of text. The user clicks on 'Charts' in the left sidebar and scrolls down the options, which include Tables and bar, donut and line charts. Under the heading 'Stat', the user selects a half-donut statistics chart, which appears on the canvas as a two-tone arc and a percentage number underneath that is reflected by the color of the chart. The user resizes the chart and changes the percentage from 67% to 88% in the top toolbar. This change is reflected in the chart on the design canvas.

Resize progress bar charts with a horizontal slider, and edit the colors, fonts and size of your stat charts from the top toolbar.

A close-up of a design slide in the upgraded Venngage Editor shows a stylized icon of a person sitting at their desk in front of a computer to the left and a heading with the text 'Example 4: Learners passing or failing'. The user selects a progress bar chart on the canvas, which displays the percentage '88%' above a two-tone progress bar. The number as well as the progress bar are in tones of blue. With the chart selected, the user clicks on the color picker tools in the top toolbar and changes the colors of the percentage and the progress bar—the 88% changes to a dark teal, and the progress bar tones are light teal (for the larger portion representing the 88%) and red (representing the 12% remaining).

Swap chart types easily between bar, icon, donut and half-donut from the top toolbar.
