Modify the font face or style, size, line height, color or add a link to any text that appears in any basic table you create in our upgraded Editor (Beta).

Add text to your table

Type text into a cell in the table directly: click on the cell and type with your keyboard. Or, paste values into a table from an external source with Ctrl+V or Cmd+V.

A user clicks into the second cell of the top row of a basic table on the design canvas of the upgraded Venngage Editor. They type the word 'Expenses' into the cell then move to the cell next to it and type 'Risks'.

Change the font face

Click into the cell(s) of the text you want to modify. Select the text. From the top toolbar, select the font face you want to use from the drop-down menu.

A user selects the text in the first column of a table with four columns, visible on part of a design canvas in the upgraded Editor. The user clicks into the Font Face drop-down menu that appears in the top toolbar above the canvas when the text is selected, and changes the font face from 'Assistant' to 'Graduate', which is reflected on the design.

Scroll down the list to select the font you want, or use the search at the top of the menu to type in the font name.

A user selects the text in the fourth cell in the last column of a table with four columns, visible on part of a design canvas in the upgraded Editor. The user clicks into the Font Face drop-down menu that appears in the top toolbar above the canvas when the text is selected, and types the font face 'Inter' into the search field at the top of the menu. The font face comes up in the menu and the user clicks on it, changing the font face on the text in the selected cell.

Select a single cell: double- or triple-click into the cell you want to modify; this will select the text in the cell. Change the font face from the menu in the top toolbar as described above.

A user triple-clicks into the second cell of the second column of a four-column table, visible on part of a design canvas in the upgraded Editor. The cell appears in a 'selected' state, with a transparent blue color and blue border. The user clicks into the Font Face drop-down menu that appears in the top toolbar above the canvas when the text is selected, and clicks the font face 'Arvo'. The font face of the text in the selected cell changes to Arvo. The user repeats this action twice more, on two other alternating cells in the same column.

Change the font size or style

Select the cell(s) you want to modify the text in, then use the Font Size menu in the top toolbar to select a different font size.

A user selects the text in the first column of a table with six columns, visible on part of a design canvas in the upgraded Editor. The user clicks into the Font Size drop-down menu that appears in the top toolbar above the canvas when the text is selected, and changes the font size from 12 to 16, which is reflected on the design.

Change the style of the font to bold, italic or underline with the commands in the top toolbar, to the right of the size menu.

A user mouses over a close-up of the top toolbar in the upgraded Editor, which displays the text styling tools available when editing text in a basic table. The user mouses over the Bold, Italic, and Underline styling tools, and then clicks on each of them. When each of them are selected, their icons appear with a pale blue background and the black lines are dark blue.

Change the line height

Select a cell to change the Font Line Height, which affects the spacing between multiple lines of text in the same cell.

A user clicks into the third cell in the third column of a six-column basic table, visible on a design canvas in the upgraded Editor. The styling tools for text become visible in the top toolbar. The user clicks the Font Line Height menu, which brings up a list of metrics from 0.9 to 2.9, increasing in 0.1 increments. The Font Line Height is set to '1.2'.

A close-up of the top toolbar with the text-styling tools visible; the Font Color icon (which appears as a capital letter 'A' with a bar of color underneath it) is highlighted with a light-grey background and the label Font color.

Use the color picker to select a color from "Project Colors" or using the picker box and Hue slider. You can also save a color here with the plus-sign icon, change the Opacity of the color, pick the color from anywhere on your device screen with the eyedropper tool. If you know the color HEX code, you can enter it into the field above the "Hex" label.

The Contrast Ratio section at the bottom of the menu will let you know whether the colors you chose pass accessibility guidelines.

A six-column table appears on a design canvas in the upgraded Venngage Editor. The user selects the text in the first column of the table, the font color of which is black. A 'Font color' (color picker tool) icon appears in the top toolbar; the user clicks on the 'Font color' to open the color picker. The color is set to HEX 2B2B35. The user clicks on a color under the Project Color swatches section at the top of the color picker, a medium purple (HEX 8F6EEB). The text the user selected in the table now appears on the design in the medium purple shade.

Select a single cell: double- or triple-click into the cell you want to modify; this will select the text in the cell. Change the font color from the menu in the top toolbar as described above.

Add or remove a link

Add a link to text or a number in your basic table with the text styling tools.

Select the text you want to add a hyperlink to; this will bring up the text styling tools in the top toolbar.

A user clicks into a cell in a basic table that appears on a design canvas in the upgraded Venngage Editor. The user selects the text that appears in that cell, and the text styling tools appear in the top toolbar. The user clicks on the Link icon in the top toolbar and enters a URL into the modal (box) that appears at the top of the screen, then clicks Okay at the bottom of the modal. The text in the table now appears underlined to signify that it is hyperlinked to the web address.

Select or click "Link" which appears after the Line Height drop-down:

Enter the URL address into the modal (box) that appears and click "OK" to add the link to the text in your table.

Remove or edit the link address the same way; select the hyperlinked text, and click the "Link" icon in the top toolbar. The modal will appear with the current URL linked to the text; modify the URL or delete it and leave the modal empty.

Click "OK" to make your changes and close the link modal.

A user clicks into a cell in a basic table that appears on a design canvas in the upgraded Venngage Editor. The user selects the text that appears in that cell, which is underlined to signify that it is hyperlinked with a web address. The text styling tools appear in the top toolbar. The user clicks on the Link icon in the top toolbar and a modal (box) appears at the top of the screen with a URL already in the text field. The user deletes the URL, leaving the text field empty, then clicks Okay at the bottom of the modal. The text in the table now appears without an underline, as it is no longer hyperlinked.
