What is a flowchart?

A flowchart usually moves in one general direction and takes on a vertical or horizontal shape. There is one “starting” item and items can be connected to multiple parent items. You can either add a new item (line + item) or connect two existing items (drag line from item-to-item). There is no single parent item, but there is a starting item.

Adding a shape

  1. Click the shape you want to connect to, and the ports appear.

  2. Click a port and the add shape modal appears with a selection of shapes.

  3. Click and drag the port to drag a line connecting to an existing shape.

  4. You can connect to a shape on one of its four ports (top, bottom, left, right).

  5. Dropping the line on the canvas opens the add shape modal.

  • The layout adjusts to match a shape if required.

  2. Click and drag the end of the line to a port on the shape you want to connect to. You can also drop the line anywhere on the shape and the line snaps to the nearest port.

  2. Click the Copy Style button.
